violence in August 2008

SPIRITUAL AND PHYSICAL EXERCISE DAILY

by Dr P.P. Job

At the Michael Job Centre, everyone joins in the prayer and worship held at the chapel at 5.30 a.m Indian standard time. This is being broadcast live on www.drjobmissions.com. It is difficult to get up and pray early morning. However if you sleep early you can wake up early. It is a condition of the mind. When Indian time is 5 a.m. Hongkong time is 7.30 a.m. Our small children aged two and a half to four years – like Cassidy, comes to the chapel first, as she goes to bed at 8 p.m. daily. While I am in Delhi the same routine is carried out and I watch this programme on my computer.
When I was a young boy my beloved mother woke me daily at 5 a.m. If I did not awake, she would wash my face with cold water. When I questioned her about it, she would say that Jesus is not busy and therefore, He is free to hear our prayer, since most people are sleeping at this time. I believed it. Then when I grew up and was studying in class five, I learned that when India sleeps America is awake. So I told my mother, that when we pray early morning Jesus is very busy in America and He has no time to hear our prayers. My mother said that reasoning has no place in faith. She insisted that I would be a strong man in faith if I continued to awake early in the morning. I pray first in the morning even today. She is right!
Now I have served 47 years in the Vineyard of Jesus. Both my sons Michael and John were taken away suddenly. Certain people have tried to blackmail me many times, fabricating stories and even paying money to false witnesses for doing a so-called “good work”.
My blood pressure goes up 100/200 and I have diabetes and cholesterol, which is high. In spite of this, I travel abroad for 15 days, almost every month to preach the Gospel. I have travelled 129 nations several times, all because of my beloved mother.
At the time of constructing the Orphanage for the girls in Coimbatore my first decision was to construct the Michael Job Memorial Chapel, which is open for prayer and worship.

Michael Job Memorial Chapel

Secondly, I built a stadium for my daughters to run and exercise at 6.45 a.m. after the Chapel service. For the last 40 years, I walk 3 k.m. every day in the 2000 acres deer park near my home in Delhi. During these times God imparts very good thoughts in my mind to preach. It is here big decisions are made. I am happy to say that in spite of all my problems I am able to carry out all that God tells me. Not only do I hear from God speaking during prayer but also while walking in the deer park. Physical exercise is essential like spiritual exercise.
Now my 501 daughters in Michael Job Centre are availing of the chapel and stadium facilities every morning. I am sure that these children will have spiritual and physical strength in future. They will do more than I did for the Lord.
Added to all the facilities I have installed 8 big water purifying filters. The cost of each is Rs. 50,000/-. Water in India is contaminated and brings on all types of sickness. Then in order to give a cup - full of fresh yogurt without chemicals to the children daily, I purchased 32 cows. Thus the fresh bacteria already in the yogurt kills all the bad bacteria in the food after 1½ hours. My children are healthy. I also give them the best rice ‘ponni’ (Golden rice) and this gives them good digestion.
In addition, to avoid all major sicknesses to a greater extent, I have planned to purchase 100 acres of agricultural farm, where every fruit and vegetable will be cultivated.
After completing their studies, my children will go all over Asia, or the world, holding a Doctorate degree in education in one hand and a Bible degree in another, as a strong and bold solider for Christ, to face any odd situation in the future. You also can join me spiritually and financially in my great adventure for Christ.

23 GIRLS OF MARTYRED & PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS
JOINED RECENTLY AT MICHAEL JOB CENTRE

PERSECUTION CONTINUES IN THE STATES
WHERE HINDU PARTY RULES

Bangalore – Two Protestant Churches were attacked, Bibles and prayer books destroyed or sequestered, pastors and believers threatened. This happened in the district of Tumkur in the state of Karnataka in southern India. The crime is reported by the Global Council of India Christians (GCIC), which attributes the attack to members of the Sangh Parivar (group of Hindu fanatics) and accused local police officers of aiding and abetting the violence.
Local sources say that in the late evening of 28 August, a group of Hindu radicals stormed the Gypsy Prayer Hall in Mavunakatte Palay, led by three well-known activists (Rangantha, Ramalingayya Gowda and Ramesh) members of the Sangh Parivar were seen aboard a jeep along with three deputy superintendents of police, the chief inspector and deputy chief inspector of the district.
The group has accused Hanuma Naik, the 33-year old pastor in his place of worship, for forced conversions and deception, to the detriment of the local inhabitants. After having been beaten along with a student present at the time on the site, police dragged Naik to the police station opening a case against him.
The GCIC reports that after the incursion in Mavunakatte Palay, some of the attackers directed their rage on the Baptist church in Krupashray. There too the scene was repeated. In the absence of the pastor, the group threatened his wife with punitive action and confiscated Bible and prayer books. The Sangh Parivar activists stopped their worship at the Protestant church of the International Cooperation Ministries (ICM) near Agrahar. They failed to cause any major harm. The pastor barricaded himself into his house for fear of attacks.
Karnataka has long been the scene of assaults and violence against Christians. Already in coincidence with the programme in Orissa last summer, the Indian state had recorded attacks on local churches and communities. Local sources say that the increase in violence has coincided with the coming power in the state government of Hindu nationalist party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In 2009, Karnataka has recorded at least 10 attacks against Christians, the last dating back to August 11, 2009.

SEVERE PERSECUTION IN PAKISTAN

Lahore, September 17 (CDN) — At a funeral for a Christian man allegedly tortured to death while in custody on a spurious charge of blaspheming the Quran, police in Sialkot, Pakistan yesterday fired on mourners trying to move the coffin to another site.
Area Christians suspect police killed 22-year-old Robert Danish, nicknamed “Fanish” or “Falish” by friends, by torturing him to death on Tuesday (Sept. 15) after the mother of his Muslim girlfriend contrived a charge against him of desecrating Islam’s scripture. The allegation led to calls from mosque loudspeakers to punish Christians, prompting an Islamic mob to attack a church building in Jathikai village on Friday (Sept. 11) and beat several of the 30 families forced to flee their homes.

Jathikai was Danish’s native village, and some family members and other Christians wished to transfer his coffin to his hometown. Eyewitnesses at the funeral in Christian Town, Sialkot, said police fired shots directly at the Christians, injuring three, when mourners began to move the coffin toward nearby Jathikai. Mourners fled.
